Fatemeh Dehghani
Fatemeh Dehghani (b. 1996) is an Iranian Oud player, composer, and performer currently based in Germany. She began her musical education at Tehran Music School, specializing in Oud performance, and later earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Iranian traditional music from the University of Tehran (Faculty of Fine Arts).
In 2024, she relocated to Germany to pursue a second Master’s degree in Music pedagogy.
She has performed in numerous concerts and festivals both in Iran and internationally, including Expo 2020 Dubai, the Babylon Festival, and a special performance in Shanghai with The Spirit Afar Trio, a group under her direction.
Her debut album The Spirit Afar was released in 2020, followed by the release of singles such as The Waterfall Flowing From Your Hair and Liquorice, both in collaboration with Mücahit Kol. Her second album, In My Dreams, I See You, is set to be released in 2025.
In addition to her artistic work, Fatemeh has published a research article titled Investigating the Existing Etudes for Oud in Iranian Classical Music in Farahang Magazine.
She has also appeared as an Oud player on other albums, including Keyumars-Nameh (composed by Masih Tahvildari, featuring vocalist Hossein Alishapour) and The Sun’s Pathway (composed by Mohsen Mirzaei)
